USB device port

The USB device port - USB hSerial - has a micro B USB connector. The name tells us that this port is connected to the serial port of the microcontroller, and that it is not the native USB port - it uses the FTDI® chip to connect the internal serial port to your computer or other USB host.

The USB hSerial port can be used to:a

  • connect to the Internet via a USB Host or USG-OTG device such as, e.g. a laptop, computers (e.g. RaspberryPi) or a tablet/smartphone,
  • read logs from the RoboCORE device,
  • upload new software to the RoboCORE microcontroller (if the wireless connection is not available).

RoboCORE cannot be powered via the USB hSerial port.
